WITH THE FAMILY : An activity to learn while having fun
Soierie Vivante organizes weaving sessions intended for all types of audiences.
Children (from 7 years old) and adults are welcomed at the trimmings workshop, the former home workshop of Henriette Létourneau, nestled on the 1st floor of a Canut building.
The sessions last 3 hours, with 2 hours of weaving, 30 minutes of guided tour and a snack for the youngest for €16 per person.
The session is creative: each person makes their own fabric at their own pace. This activity stimulates children's attention, coordination and imagination…
Everyone leaves with their woven creation!
We offer sessions during school holidays (you can register online) or, if these times do not correspond, on request on 04 78 27 17 13 (depending on our availability)!
IN groups : learn and practice
Soierie Vivante organizes weaving sessions for schoolchildren. Classes are hosted at the municipal trimmings workshop, former home of Henriette Létourneau.
The children each have their own little loom adapted to their size and weave for an hour. After the practice, the children discover how the workshop's trimmings looms work.
The session is creative : each child leaves with the fabric sample they have made.
This activity can be combined with a guided tour of the weaving workshop located on rue Justin Godart or with a tour of the neighborhood with a small booklet provided by the association.

For adults : Introduction to weaving
Take part in a fun and original activity, in the shoes of a Croix-Rousse weaver.
Learn the ropes of weaving on a miniature loom, and create your own textile work. Discover the weaves, test the materials and colors, give free rein to your imagination. Then discover the life of weavers, during a guided tour with demonstration on 3.50 meter high looms.
